Caner is an attorney admitted to the New York and Istanbul Bar Associations. He graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Law with honors. He completed his Master of Laws (LLM) degree at Emory Law School, USA with honors and pro bono publico medal for his volunteer work. He has worked at several international firms, last of which is Baker McKenzie.

Caner advises on corporate governance, startup law, venture financing law, banking ve finance, capital markets, legal matters of digital platforms and international transactions. Throughout his career, he has worked on high-profile mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and financing deals. Some of the projects he has been involved in include public offerings of companies in various sectors such as Elite Naturel, Rönesans Gayrimenkul, Obase Bilgisayar, Konya Kağıt, Baydöner, and many different energy, textile, and investment companies; Martı’s becoming the first Turkish company and startup to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange; providing retainer consulting to fintech companies of different sizes such as Figopara, Visa, Mastercard; advising both domestic and foreign parties in many mergers and acquisitions in the energy, gaming, banking, investment, and financial services sectors; financing, credit and investment projects of groups such as Koç Holding, Sabancı Holding, İş Bankası, Turkven, Unlu, JP Morgan, HSBC. Caner also has in-house experience at the global consulting firm Marsh McLennan, where he reported to the New York and London teams. Caner is selected as a participant of VC University Cohort15, organized by Berkeley Law School and National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). By lectures and networking with the prestigious experts and leaders from the VC and startup world, the program dives deep into theory and practice of good management of these entities and venture deals with business and finance perspectives. In addition, he completed finance courses from schools such as Yale, Duke and Rice.

During his school life, he worked as a beach-boy, lifeguard, waiter, barista, bartender, cashier and tour guide. He believes all these jobs and earning his own money since high-school have built his character and work-ethic. He is the co-founder of an award-winning social responsibility project, a photographer and non-stop traveler (21 countries so far). But he is still the biggest fan of his town Istanbul and has a sweet FOMO about city festivals.
